Welcome to UK QUAD SCENE

2007 QRA Endurance - a race series for ALL abilities - a class for each;
(Enduro - Hare & Hound, News, QRA)
Event Date: 25 Mar 2007

The QRA is expanding the well supported and established QRA British Quad Endurance Championship, it will be bigger and better. More classes, new venues and run by the QRA for the benefit of the riders and the industry.
In the past we have helped and assisted other clubs/promoters by including our championship, in with their events, encouraging new clubs and venues to accommodate the Quads, even when not a QRA championship round after we have been they include Quad classes in the future events.

Now, due to various reasons including; Track requirements. Number of competitors. Consistent rules, Quad Friendly tracks etc. we are going to run them ourselves.

2007 will have;
. One rule book.
. The events run with the Quad riders needs first.
. The riders get their race number for the year and it stays the same, all year.
. Improved publicity and reports.
.The opportunity to expand to more areas of the UK, encouraging more people in.

The QRA Endurance events are designed to encourage Quad riding in a controlled environment for all abilities. All standards of rider catered for competing together on the same track. Each group will start together, staggered from group to group. All out for the same three hour period.

Endurance events are great value for money, we own a Quad because we enjoy riding it and three hours riding on all terrain, conditions and scenery etc. You get it all at an Endurance event.

The other factor is that to be competitive in QRA Endurance events, you don’t have to spend endless amounts on the machine, it’s an Endurance event, reliability, ability and enjoyment is what gets you to the finish.

The classes for 2007 will be;
(QRA reserve the right to alter a rider from a class entered if it appears that a rider is not suited to a particular class.)

Pro Rider;
Riders who have achieved a top ten place in the championship in the past or who are either self elected or proven in other areas such as MX.

Expert Class;
Riders who have been out of the top ten but in the top 30.

Clubman Class;
Newcomer riders and those outside the top thirty.

4x4 – Utility Auto class;
This class will be for riders with Utility based machines.
Introducing this class has proved to be a great opening to ‘work’ based owners into our sport since the QRA included them. Getting some of these owners involvement and understanding of our sport has created an opening up of land opportunities to our sport, via their contacts and future they often end up as owners of ‘race’ Quads also.
The class has been a very competitive class with great interest for this season.
This class will be an open class and cc split of up to 500 and 501 to unlimited production.

The above classes can make any modification they wish to individualise his or her machine.

Stock Class;
Stock (ATV) - All motor components and suspension must remain stock.

May change tyres (excluding Tire Balls), wheels, throttle assembly, handlebars (excluding handlebars with bushings), grips, skid plates, plastics and seat covers, including those that add traction.  May add bead locks, foot peg extensions (but not foot pegs), and open or closed-end metal or plastic hand guards. Cut Out and nerf bars must be fitted.
PLEASE NOTE; THAT NURF BARS MADE WITH FOOTREST AS ONE - CAN BE USED

May not add larger fuel tanks, quick-fill fuel systems, steering stabilizers, steering stems, automatic clutches, air filter sleeves, shock reservoirs, or modify or remove shock reservoirs from machines that come equipped with them.
Must have stock pipe, silencer, carb, axle, air box, air cleaner, shocks, etc....

Shock valving may not be changed, and suspension springs and/or preload may be changed with original manufacturer parts only of current or previous year’s models.

Manufacturer support for this class has been excellent, more fine details will be released very soon as it develops.
As we have always done, we will also be providing awards for the Ladies, Under 21, Over 40’s, Seniors and all the manufacturers class awards.

The format of each round.

The QRA will run some other trophy/open Endurance events through the year.

Support Quads will always be welcome and set away together at the back of the grid. Day licences will also be available.

We are also planning to have an ‘invited’ rider machine available to accommodate special guests, media, journalists etc. To enable us to tell the story of our sport as a result of first hand experience, training will be provided.

Each event will be run under the rules and supplementary rules of the QRA and the ACU handbook.
Licences – full ACU licence for championship contenders are downloadable via the qra web site or www.acu.org.uk and sent to us for stamping and signing. Please include a stamped forwarding envelope.

One of the weekends may need to change to the Saturday of the same weekend. The reason is that we have the chance to use another awesome piece of land and it might only be available on a Saturday. I have walked the land (still puffing!) and waiting any day now for the land owner to confirm the date options. We will maintain the same dates otherwise and the same weekends.

The venues range from Devon, Somerset, Wales, Berkshire, Yorkshire, Hampshire, Midlands so a good spread and in easy reach for everyone, making the journey to take part in 3 hours of fun, worthwhile.
