Gaynor Comes Home
(News, QRA) A great big thank you to everyone who has sent Gaynor cards, flowers, get well messages and general messages of concern. It has been a great boost to her progress, getting vertical again and sent home so soon after the operation on her spine. It has also been a great confort to the boys and me.
Gaynor can only sit or stand for very short amounts of time and has to be on crutches until August. Then the next few months will be packed with physiotherapy and doing as she is told!!! The plates and screws (mecano) will be removed in about ten months when she should be back to her old self.
This was an unfortunate accident - no fault of Gaynor's just one of those things when the terrain caught the Quad out, which Gaynor tried to correct, but it just went too far and then after throwing her off, turned over and hit her in the back. We were all heading back to our the cars after spending 2.5 hours at a steady pace looking at the land which we intend to use for an Enduro later in the year, and were going at walking pace down a steep hill at the time.
Gaynor was wearing a helmet etc. and we must stress - Please remember to always wear correctly fitting helmet and safety clothing at all times that your Quad is moving - what ever speed.
Once again thanks to everyone and to the Devon Air Ambulance, the surgeons and staff at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton and all of you in the Quad World - your great, thanks.
Tony
