NEC Motorcycle Show Review
(News) There were a fair number of quads on show at the 2004 National Motorcycle Show this year, ranging from the Tame to the Extreme. Looking at each stand in turn, the datatag stand had the new GG Quad on display, with 85hp on tap, and a road legal status, this extreme machine is made in Switzerland and will be coming to the UK soon.
The Barrus / Mota-Roma stand had their usual range of 50cc to 300cc road legal quads, scooters and some off road vehicles too. The new machine was their prototype 250cc two seater, side by side road legal buggy, the quality seems higher than many we have seen before.
Derbi had their new 250cc road legal quad on their scooter stand, quality of the plastics seems good, and the quad is based around the SMC engine and frame that is also used by Barrosa and RAM The Japanese manufacturers had a good stable of bikes on display.
There were a number of insurance companies there with stands at the show, and chatting with them all, there are a lot more offering quad cover now than did last year. ![]()
Finally there was a Suzuki Hyabusa based quad, with both a motorcycle type trailing arm rear suspension and quad independent rear suspension, together with a chain driven differential, it would be an interesting quad to ride. For more info contact: Article written 08/11/2004
